The thinner cylinder walls had cracking issues at times.The two engine have the same bore. The 427 has longer stroke, that will give you more lugging power and start a load easyer. If you think about the 366 is not much more than a 350. If I remember right the 427 has about 25 or 30 horse over the 366.
